Project Overview

Cornerstone Christian University approached me with the need for a complete overhaul of their existing website. Their previous platform was outdated, difficult to navigate, and not optimized for mobile users—limiting their ability to connect effectively with students, faculty, and prospective learners. The goal was to create a modern, professional, and user-friendly website that would reflect the university’s mission while providing easy access to academic and administrative resources.

 

 

Project Initiation & Planning

The project began with a series of discovery sessions to understand the university’s vision, branding guidelines, target audience, and functional needs. I collaborated closely with the university’s leadership to define key objectives, such as:

  • Improving user experience for both desktop and mobile users

  • Simplifying content management for university staff

  • Highlighting academic programs and student services

  • Streamlining communication through integrated contact forms

Design & Development Process

Using WordPress as the CMS platform, I designed a fully custom theme that aligns with the university’s branding and values. The design focused on clean layouts, intuitive navigation, and strong visual hierarchy to guide users effortlessly through the site.

Throughout the process, I maintained regular communication with the university team, providing prototypes and collecting feedback to ensure the final product met their expectations.

Results

The new website received overwhelmingly positive feedback from both internal stakeholders and external visitors. It significantly improved usability, increased mobile engagement, and better communicated the university’s mission and offerings. The streamlined interface made it easier for prospective students to learn about programs and get in touch, while staff reported a much more efficient content management experience.
